Large-scale network-based computing has attracted tremendous efforts from both academia and industry because it is scalable, flexible, extendable, and economic with wide-spread applications across many disciplines in science and engineering. To address scalability issues for an important class of applications, researchers proposed a divisible load scheduling theory (DLT). These applications are structured as large numbers of independent tasks with low granularity (Bharadwaj. V., Ghose.D ., & Thomas Robertazzi. G ., 2003). They are thus amenable to embarrassingly parallelism, typically in master-slave fashion. ABSTRACT
